Hey, remember that weird drawing of Halloween costumes I did for Inktober 2021? Here's more of that!A few notes about the unimaginatively named "Magicostumes" brand Halloween costumes:
You may have read about "cursed" costumes, which bond with your body once you put them on; zippers fall off, seams disappear, and you become permanently trapped in the shape of whatever creature the costume was designed to look like. Nothing like that happens here; Magicostumes(TM) are completely benign. While you're wearing one, it never changes; it's just ordinary fabric. There's always an obvious way to get in or out of it, such as zippers or buttons. The wearer's face is always visible, so the costume can't even function as an effective disguise. (But feel free to add any mask you might have, if you like.) And when you take the costume off, you're just as human as you were before.
What makes the costume magic, is the way it distorts the space inside it. Basically, the shape of the inside doesn't match the shape of the outside. It's kind of like the TARDIS that way. So, whether the costume is bigger than you (like the horse) or smaller than you (like the mouse), you will fill it, and it will fit you like a glove.
All three children in this picture are about the same height in everyday life. The horse costume is making the girl on the left bigger (but not as big as a real horse) and the mouse costume is making the girl in the middle smaller (but not as small as a real mouse). The boy on the right is included in the picture as a size reference. Most costumes have other unique magical features; the tails can move in reaction to the wearer's thoughts, and so can the horse's ears.
The horse costume has small openings behind the rubber hooves. If the wearer needs to use one of her hands, she can just poke it through the hole. It's also how she can button and unbutton the costume. She's giving a thumbs up to show that she can feel the girl in the mouse costume grabbing her tail.
