I fondly remember a What If? comic I bought at a flea market that had the FF assuming different powers.I drew a little scuffle for fun with these personas - Mandroid, Ultra-Woman, Dragonfly, and Mr. Fantastic! (formerly Big Brain, now housed in the body of Dr. Doom)

It remains one of my favorite What Ifs and FF stories in general. I really like how it played out.

In the original story, the tying of their (original) powers to parts of their personalities, and the new powers to different facets of same.
That's what struck me first.
Second, I liked the turn of Reed as a "monster," showing emotion over the possibility of losing Sue. (And Johnny was changed irrevocably too, but didn't seem to mind as much as Ben as the Thing - or Reed as Big Brain - ever did.)
Third, I just liked the different aesthetic.
