Description
Pink Floyd - Momentary Lapse of Reason - Learning to FlyI found this bird, in front of my padio door. It fell from its nest which was right above. The birds parents were looking for the child, but he was just too low to the ground. I moved him on to a metal dustpan, without touching him. I put him on the table. Than, I saw that he was fluttering around, it seemed that he was learning to fly. I put him on the ground. I wanted to take care of the bird, but I wanted the parents to find him. I checked on the bird the next day, he passed on. The bird may not have learned to fly here on earth, but he did learn how to fly in heaven.
Above the planet on a wing and a prayer,
My grubby halo, a vapour trail in the empty air,
Across the clouds I see my shadow fly
Out of the corner of my watering eye
A dream unthreatened by the morning light
Could blow this soul right through the roof of the night
"Learning to Fly" was inspired by Pink Floyd's song.

Pink Floyd really is one of the most inspiring bands.

Years ago my grandmother's car walked in with a baby blackbird in it's mouth, just holding it softly enough to carry it in. She raised it by choping up worms to feed it, and giving it water through a dropper. Then, when it was old enough, it went to live at a nearby animal sanctuary, which is pretty cool. But I see this happen so much, and it's so sad cause the little birds never get to grow up It's worse when you just find feathers, though, and you know it's been eaten by a cat.
I love the pic, btw, that bird looks so grumpy.

Aw, poor little guy. It is comforting to know he's flying somewhere, though.
"Learning to Fly" just happens to be my favorite PF song.

Yes yes, it is one of my favorites. I highly suggest that you hear the live version from Pink Floyd's PULSE CD, amazing stuff live!
