Description
You should always wear safety goggles in the lab, especially when something in there is smouldering.(Carlos pulling off his goggles and breaking the handsome-meter.)

I thought, "Oh, it's an animated gif, that's nea-" then my heart pounded once before stopping and I think my jaw dropped. I'm more worried about getting my heart started up again.

His hair is perfect, and we all hate and despair and love that perfect hair in equal measure.

omg Hottie alert. This is very nice. No wonder Cecil is so vocal about his infatuation for Carlos - he's staking his claim! And no one would dare cross the Voice of Night Vale!

Sorry, no true critique, but when I saw this, it actually felt like watching porn -no joke.

His lab coat settles quite suddenly. It looks like he has a different torso in the last frame, is that from the reference?

Yes, it's from the reference.
There are a lot of things I could fix or smooth out about this, but it could take weeks to tackle them all, so I had to consciously choose a stopping point and let what I had be good enough

Oh goodness. The little tilt to his chin...I never knew I had a thing for safety glasses.
Great animation! Very inspiring. BRB, off to get several hundred post-it notes to make into flip-books.
...On that note, what software did you use to put this all together?

It's only twenty frames, so you won't need that many post-it notes!
I switched between Photoshop CC and Jasc Animation Shop 3. Used Photoshop to edit down the original video model, turn it into a gif, and create each of the drawn frames. Then, because Photoshop kept trying to do weird overly-complicated things with the progression of the actual animation, I copied the frames into Animation Shop and did the resizing and timing adjustment there. (With some jumping back into Photoshop to edit the lineart on individual frames.)
