Description
I know, I know, just when you thought I couldn't draw things out any longer, I did. Not only this is chapter entirely my own work (none of the characters outside the main party are in the game, nor do any of the locations or events occur), but in order to keep things short and simple (and small) I've actually divided it up as well. This week's is a short chapter - next week's is longer. You may think that there's a slight continuity error in that the party suddenly seem short of funds again - that isn't actually the case. Although the party earned a fair bit of cash from their time in the Swordsman's Labyrinth, that's not enough to last them all the way back to the Northern Continent. Jay's also getting a bit of ribbing from Angelo for donating some of their earnings to Ascantha's restoration. Slightly ridiculous, I know, but it was partly out of duty (acting on behalf of Trodain, whose funds he originally started with), and partly because the funds he gave came from a donation by Maella Abbey to catch Dhoulmagus - he thought their money would be better spent restoring Ascantha and that Abbot Francisco would approve. It's also worth noting that none of the others would have objected too strenuously had their realised what Jay was planning, either.
Apologies for the repeated descriptions again, but I felt it a handy way of introducing the characters once more as they grow up and as a useful lead in to the changing seasons - it's a way to show the passing of time. Then there's a brief battle (very brief) and the story cuts out - as I said, there's a lot more in the next chapter, but I do feel this one is rather short. I apologise.
Let me know what you think, and I'll post the next segment next week.
