Thank you again for this tutorial. I've recently been doing some of these and I'm beginning to really love them. I plan to do more but I'm not so good with Photo Shop so this will really really help me. Thank you.

If you're interested, here is my most recent piece. [link]

Wow. A very detailed tutorial and quite easy to understand. Even though I'm extremely new at using Photoshop and other PC programs, this really hits the spot! Incredible. Great job!

it's nice but in Step9 I use to use PEN instead of BRUSH Tool to mark the shape I want to mask- it's much more quick and exact, especially if you operate with Alt, Shift and Space buttons while you are using it! Just try!

Gah I hate the collections thinger. It's always putting things in the wrong place for me

I'll try this if I an ever find the time. As a note, I find that when I use the lasso, I can just hit delete and it erases everything within the lasso. Very helpful for huge areas.

Very well done! I keep wanting to do a coming-out-of-the-border tutorial but not getting around to it, but now I don't have to! You've covered all the points I would have made, including all the little details about which tools are helpful in different situations. I think it will be very easy to understand for someone new to PS while still being extremely instructive for someone more experienced.

The only thing I would add is that I would have blurred the shadow a little bit at the end--probably Gaussian blur at a few pixels radius.
