Damien is quite interesting to me. He cares about you, but wants to get revenge. And by him leaving us behind, we know he was willing to do anything to get revenge on Mark.... at least that’s what I think

I apologize for the late reply, but here goes nothing:
Mark committed the crime himself. No one in the mansion had anything to do with his death, but Mark knew that the suspicions everyone had would make them all go crazy. Selene knew that something was off with the whole case, but Mark managed to get rid of her before she could figure it out. The colonel, who was a main suspect in the detective’s mind, was completely innocent, but went he went mad after figuring out the detective kept files on all of them. The colonel went on a rampage and shot both you and the detective. He didn’t mean to shoot you, and that was probably what broke him. You woke up in limbo, where you saw Mark, who asked you a question I’m still trying to interpret. “It’s not fair, is it....” You encounter Damien and Selene (Damien wanted to talk with Selene by himself, which Mark used to his advantage to get a vessel.), the two explain that Mark planned all of this and stole Damien’s body. You agreed to go back with the two of them in your mind, since you couldn’t go back by yourself. You wake up and see the colonel, William, who’s holding Damien’s cane. He’s overjoyed at the fact you aren’t dead, and he’s visibly crazy. He puts down Damien’s cane, and you walk over to pick it up. You grab it, and your form changed into Damien, who looks paler and.... different is the right term. He shifts around a bit, and the mirror crack, leaving a gap from limbo and reality. Damien walks away, and the camera doesn’t move, symbolizing that he left you behind in the mirror. Damien wanted revenge along with Selene, and he’s willing to do anything to get it.
Phew, that got long, didn’t it? Apologies for rambling...
