Description
Another shot from Mykonos, colour manipulation in Photoshop.Mykonos is, I believe, the only island of the Cyclades where the inhabitants paint the windows and doors of their houses, as well as the domes of the churches, in colours other than sky blue. Red is very common on this island and a characteristic mark of the local architecture.
Sometimes in summer the southern winds blow hard. They come up the Aegean straight from Egypt and its desert, and "tint" the sunlight yellowish. I tried to recreate this here. Imagine the deserted streets after lunch, when not even cats venture out under the sun, the wind howling through the alleyways, the camera shaking in my hands and the walls reflecting the warm, golden glow of Africa.
Magical, isn't it?

I love the colour of the sky it is somehow other worldly (is that a real word) it could be a location in a sci-fi film, sorry geekiness coming out, the whole effect is quite beautiful

I like what you see here . The moment had indeed an other-worldly feel to it (yes, it's a real word
) and thank you!

It's beautiful.
Sometimes when a strong southern wind comes up to France from North Africa, we find Sahara sand on outdoor surfaces such as cars parked outside. It is reddish I think.

Thank you .
A friend went to Egypt last year and he asked me what I would like as a souvenir from that country. I asked for a handful of sand from the desert. I keep it in a small bottle and think about camels and oases when I look at it

One of my sons went to Yugoslavia before it broke up, to follow his girl, they went on a boat on the Danube and he walked in the river to carry her off the boat. He brought home sand from the river bed in his shoes.
He lost his girl though.
