Description
This probably isn't art, but since there's a category for this here I'll upload it.I noticed that the onigiri tutorials here on DA don't cover stuffed onigiri, hand molding and don't have many photos in them I just had the sudden notion to make a tutorial.
Since I made these for lunch anyway it was just a matter of snapping a couple of photos while I worked. Putting it all together actually took three times longer than making the onigiri. (^~^||) hehe.
Please upload any photos of onigiri you make with this tutorial and send me a PM with a link to it!

I'm going to make this when I get home. I love rice but I read a lot of manga and rice balls always interested me... I'm assuming Onigiri is the real name for it? Either way your tutorial is easy to follow and I want some flippn Onigiri now!

I love that you use the plastic wrapping when you mold them I've always used my bare hands, but I feel that they get kind of uneven...
I usually fill mine with seasoned salmon, and I always season my rice while cooking
thanks for the motivation to make pretty shapes, that heart was awsome <3

AWESOME! I just need nori and rice... maybe I could get my sister to eat this, she loves that canned tuna with mayo. I'm not a big fan of it, but it's not to bad. MUST TRY. I'm looking at cooking tutorials... not good when your hungry...

Oh wow thanks! I shall have to do this soon. I have a question though! What other kinds of food can you put in onigiri? I would like to make some for my little brother, but he's a vegetarian, so I was wondering if you had any suggestions?

You can use cole slaw, only if you drain it pretty thoroughly. Basically any filling that isn't too oily or greasy should work.
Suggestions:
-Peas
-Beans
-Fried Tofu
-Umeboshi (sour pickled plums)
-pickled Daikon (that crunchy yellow stuff you get in sushi)
Try to make sure it's very strongly flavored.

Thank you soooo much! I never even thought of coleslaw. My little brother will be quite happy with those suggestions. Now I just need to do a good job with making the onigiri, but with your tutorial it should be easy to do
