Hello.This is a painting based on a couple of photos I took in a trip to Venice. I really wanted to paint this view on location but it was to crowded so I decided to take photos instead. Since the architecture in Venice is already stunning, I exaggerated the proportions just a little bit only.

Woah. I just finished reading an Iain Banks novel called "Transition," and the climactic scene takes place on a crowded bridge in Venice. As soon as I put the book down I saw someone had linked me to a Deviation through Skype, so I clicked the link and... WHAM, crowded bridge in Venice.

I live quite near Venice and I go there often...I really can say that this drawing of the "Ponte degli Scalzi" is very similar to the original location, and the colours just give you the idea of Venice's atmosphere. Good job!

the sheer amount of details is impressive. I love that there are actually a bunch of different people on the bridge, not just a few, a bunch of the same person, or just none. each one took time to draw, as did the shingles on the rooves and the windows in the background. awesome details, basically.
