If memory serves, it took until episode 12 to really get going and then it ended. Unless theres a season 2 i never heard about

There's a movie called The Last Dark that resolves most stuff.

I did hear about the movie. But by the time it came out, i had lost all interest

It's...okay.
It resolves the Fumito plot, but it's not as satisfying as you'd like. Also the fight scenes are WAY too short, which is a real shame since the animation is quite good. It's like evertime a fight starts it lasts a minute or so before it's either interupted, of Saya just wrecks the enemy completely. One battle she's fighting this elite warrior turned monster and it's built up to be a big deal and she kills him OFF SCREEN.
On the plus side the girl she saves in the begining of the movie starts to develope a sort of crush on her, so we get some not so subtle lesbian overtones from the two of them.
