Description Wanted to try out the polarizing filter I found in my fathers bag...

Just taken in the field where we keep the horses (although they are in a track which runs around the perimeter of the field until we make hay this week).

beautiful colors! the fun thing i like about polarized lenses is that you can rotate them and get different gradients of polarization for whatever intensity you're looking for

you're very wecome...i learned that from my mom when we were in africa...at first i just put it on, and then she teased me and told me to try rotating it, and lo and behold it changed things
but now i don't have an slr camera, but i still play with polarization with my sunglasses when i'm driving (car standing still of course lol )

well, not taking pictures, but just rotating them. it's really weird when you wear polarized sunglasses you can see various patterns in the glass of cars...patterns i'd never see with the naked eye...not sure why, but you do...fun to check out the various patterns that come up

That's what's so amazing about photography... you see things and capture things you can't always.

Hence why I'm getting excited about this new IR photography I want to give a go

Sly!

I love, love, love black and white photographs... so much I'd like to take everything in b/w but figure if it's in colour I can always convert.

yeah conversion is easy, so long as you can get the balances and levels right.. Does give you the option of comparing with the colour versions too

that's good, you can leave it the viewer to decide, or put the 2 on one frame, as it were, next to each other..
