Remarkable improvement. You've come very far.
I love how you put so many colors into her hair. I remember how cute she was in the anime.

:3 Yeah, the musics fitted well the atmosphere and the scene were always well done. Also, what striked me is that there wasn't a real "vilain". All the characters that seemed bad at the beginning, weren't, finally, that bad, even Drosselmeyer. In any way, I think this anime should have deserved a larger reception (especially in the field of magical girl animes), since it seems not so many people know about it :<

YES I find it really odd that it isn't more popular? For me it's super iconic and had a real feeling of magic happening without any typical mahou shoujo spell settings, which is a huge sign of success in this genre, in my opinion. The music was excellent and really completed the mood also ;; In my opinion Princess Tutu and PMMM are the best mahou shoujo animes out there, because of the mood ;_; (Sugar Sugar Rune had a great mood too, but it wasn't as brutal than the other two... drama & bloodshed is what I yearn haha))

Yuss, exactly. I think people do judge on appearance solely, and "Princess Tutu" just sounds childish to them, so they don't even give it a try, which is a real shame given how it is a lot more interesting than all the "dumb" magical girl you can find out there. Yes, PMMM is also a really interesting point of view on the genre. Kind of surprising (since, I guess, you don't expect so much blood/sadness from a magical girl themed anime) but really original. Yeah, the mood is really touching. The story, for Princess Tutu for instance, seemed pretty "natural" to me (even though it's fantasy), in a sense it didn't felt overacted (dunno if you see what I mean ^^'). Oh, now that you mention it I did watch the first episode of Sugar Sugar Rune, but didn't continue (don't remember why though). Is it good ? Maybe I should watch it once more.

Yesss both PMMM and Tutu have a great contrast in cute anime style with a dramatic, even brutal plot, so I guess that is the main reason they are so excellent?? Haha I have no idea but I love them both ;u; And yeah maybe it was the theatrical "play" setting that got Princess Tutu working so well? When the world was shown as a play of balley. I loved it. Kinda alike with the third Madoka movie with the "dream" setting, it was awesome.
Well yes Sugar Sugar Rune is more typical kind of mahou shoujo anime, it's really cute (I love cute stuff so..) and it has a very nice magic feeling to it. I think I prefered the manga over anime, but they are both worth of try if you are interested in genre. If I recall they made anime's ending more softer for child audience, I can't really remember how the manga ended.... It's been years I read/watched those ;; But its really bittersweet and adorable, I really enjoyed it (also I love Moyoco's drawing style, she has drew darker themed series before so this was really interesting piece from her)
... woah what a rant haha

No prob, I like to chat on everything and sometimes end with a wall of text out of context hehe
Yeah, maybe. I don't remember well all the settings of PMMM since I read the manga a bit in a hurry long time ago ^^' Maybe I will watch the anime aswell.
Tutu kinda was the case of a story within a story, I really think it used and handled all the aspects of story telling, theatre, anime, ballet, pretty well. ^^ It used all the themes and the cliché but used them in a original and touching way. It was made in a lovely way, and I think it feels lovely for the watcher aswell.
Oh I see, I will read the manga then ; I don't really like when the manga & anime diverge from each other in the ending ^^

ohhh if you've already read Madoka, I really recommend you to watch the three movies it has 'u' the first two are a summary of the series, just put together as two movies. But the third movie, it's the greatest thing ever (imo haha), really great dramatic ending for the saga. The series would mean a lot less to me if the third movie wouldn't exist tbh : D It's just amazing.
Yes I think some clichés are not avoidable in a specific genre There will always be themes that are like... build into the theme? I guess.

Oh I see, I didn't know I will watch it then
Yes, cliché are sometimes needed and inherent of the genre, the important thing is to use them correctly and not just throwing them randomly and mindlessly to the face of the readers/watchers xD
