excellent work! i love how you spared tonal work on the face. Most people are tempted to "show off" their shading skills and as a result render the colour of the skin darker than it is supposed to be What were the tools used for this portrait?

well for the skin its mostly my beloved HB mechanical pencil.
for the hair I used some..umm I'm not sure what you call them..they can be used as normal coloring pencils..but if you use water with em they become like paint ^^' my english aint too great XD this drawing was an experiment for me to test those pencils..well the black one anyway

Just amazing and beautiful. The face is really smooth, and the texture on the hair really balances out with the smoothness. Great job
May I just ask; how do you manage to accurately draw the face proportionally? I find that often when I'm doing a portrait, I realize that it's not in proportion with the original source. I also tend to go a little too fast sometimes.

When I draw faces after specific photos, I use hours just lining things up to get things where I want them, trying to get them as close to proportional as i can. Also I do practises everyday Draw a face everyday by looking at a photo, but no complicated drawings, just 15-20 min drawings ^^ I've learnt soo much from doing that! Gets better by the day
