Ok- some of the symbolism:

Book- She has a massive book obsession- her life is based around reading. She has withdrawl symptoms if she hasnt got a book on the go!

The poem in the book is part of one of her own poems. She loves writing poetry.

The pen- she loves to write (poems/stories/letters... whatever!)

The postcard- I've always believed that she'll end up travelling the world. She loves discovering and experiencing different cultures. She's also studying International Studies at uni.

The frog- she has a frog fetish... dont ask me why!

The key and the coins- Both were part of her decorative art in her room when she lived in Holland. Both remind me of her creativity

The clogs- A reminder of her time spend in Holland (clogs are dutch shoes)

The newspaper- one of the hardest things she faced when she moved to holland was not being able to read and understand the daily newspaper, so she always made the most of any trips to england or australia or america to be able to buy papers in english. Once she got her hands on an english newspaper she would be glued to it until she had read it from front page to the sport section

Thumb tack- She's always been such a strong minded person, and always known what she wants, and wont stop till she gets it. She has her ideas and beliefs and sticks to them. The thumb tack represents her ideas being firmly grounded, and unchangable.

The candle- I think there might be a hint of pyro in her- along with all her other obsessions, candles seem to enter into the list as well

Oops, forgot the Glasses. I put these in here as a kind of piss-take. She has to wear glasses for reading, and absolutely hates them! She wont read in public with them on, and ends up having to put the book an inch away from her nose to read the words...
