Yes, I have a bunch of pics from the Atlanta one. I live near Knoxville. The Chattanooga aquarium is still great, though!

Yes, I'm planning an outing in the Knoxville Zoo soon! I need a longer lens!!!!! But am saving up for it. My oldest daughter is a junior at UT Knoxville and my husband's on the faculty of communications.

I'm a doctoral candidate at University of Kentucky (Lexington) and teach two online courses at home (Maryville, TN) while I work on getting together a dissertation proposal.

What area is your doctorate? May daughter taught adjunct English at Maryville for a while. Her room mate got a 2 year degree there.

No kidding? I taught voice in the music division as an adjunct at Maryville College for five years, from 2001-2005! I also taught voice as an adjunct at UT school of music for two years.
I'm in musicology, which is a very difficult Ph.D to obtain. 6 -10 years is the average. I just passed quals, which means I'm still wounded and bleeding and waiting for scar-tissue to heal. It was a hideous experience, but at least I passed!

Congratulations. Glad you survived and can heal.
Musicology, how interesting. What it the world would a dissertation be about in that field? I always associate a dissertation with research of some kind.

Oh, yes. Lots and lots of research. I'm looking into Novo-hispanic music (music brought over to the colonies from Spain) in the cathedrals and churches of Mexico and other South American countries. This is very broad of course, because my research is only beginning.
Lots and lots to do and I haven't really accomplished much this spring due to prolonged illness. However, hope to be back in the saddle again soon!

Very interesting. I bet you will get to hear lots of awesome music during your research too. Fun!

Yes, but basically my topic is a snoozer for anyone who is not a music nerd, so I usually resist the tendency to tell people about it.

I enjoy visiting them. I can take as long as I like at an exhibit and the animals never complain about being photographed. Glad you like the shot.
