Description
Three lorikeets in the flight at the Birmingham Zoo.I'm not happy with the background. I think it is too busy and distracts from the birds.

I love going there. I always have to take someone else to hold the nectar though.

i understand why you would be frustrated with the background, but the birds colors are so beautiful and jump out at you so quickly, the background is not focused on at all. (At least not by me.)

About the background: You can select the birds, invert the mask and add a gaussian blur. This will reduce the background without removing it. Almost like changing the DOF of the photo.
Photoshop is your friend.
Oh, and

Hey Mate,
You can use The Gimp, it's opensource (free) and excellent. I use it rather than photoshop for all my digi work.

Great, also, the one on the right is an Australian Lorikeet. We've got them all around the place ... beautiful birds and great shot!

Great capture hun, I really love this one. And as for the background? It is a tiny bit distracting, maybe you could go in with a photoshop brush and just darken it up a bit, that's usually what I do. Probably what would work in future shots is a shallower depth of field.
But I still love this one!

Too cute The colour against the dull background provides a wonderful contrast.
