Description
someone asked, so I made this real quick in ms paint :>for those who can't read my terrible handwriting:
1. flat colour layer. Copy + Paste, colour in darker colour. Remove areas you want light
2. Copy + Paste this layer, remove extra areas you want more shading
3. I added a third layer for areas like the neck
4. I added some highlights too
remember to turn the opacity down until it looks right!
an more in depth explanation of this:
so I just use the regular inking brush that I use for the lineart, then I make a copy of the colour layer and colour it a darker colour. I then erase the parts that I want to have light, and lower the opacity until it looks right. I typically also copy that layer and erase some more areas, just so I can have two shading layers with different levels of light. I added a third one for this as well, but I freehanded that one, just so I could have a darker shadow layer.
