the blur thing is really true, often i zoom out really far and in again to see the design from a distance, though if you're stuck on one for a really long time you eventually get like....'color sick', and i find it gets really hard to start seeing the differences between them. The best remedy for that overall is taking a break, even for a whole day so when you come back the design looks fresh and new again, making it easier to pick out the badly matching colors.

i'm glad .//w. i hope it really helps you out! colors.. i've been so used to them it comes so naturally now, but i'm sure i also had a hard time with them when i was younger..
books, color theaory, even graphic design stuff on what represents what can really help out in portraying the feel you want for your painting.
