I was pondering on how people have up dated old stories to contemporary settings, and it made me think that some wouldn't really work if completely modernised due to the... implications that'd be on display now.

Still a fan of the book and musical though.

And yes, the Phantom from the book did look like Voldemort. He also smelt of rotten meat and was born looking like that, as opposed to getting burnt or disfigured as most of the new versions state.
