She's encountered a problem, in the increase parts, she doesn't now how many to increase by.

She started on the first bit it says to do. But she said all of it's confusing because of the increase.

If she is confused there are a lot of tutorials on YouTube for Sc Increase she can look up - just search Sc Increase 
Basically to do an increase you make 2 Sc stitches in the same Stitch. That's 1 Sc Increase. You will need to increase 6 times in each round
