Description
And the conte/goya team strikes again. This time, I'm trying my hand at Auto. But here's the thing - I used the OTHER side of the goya. Yup. It has two sides. One side is textured and the other side is smooth. With Eve, I used the smooth side. Auto got the textured one as you can see here. I sprayed a little fixative on it (which equates to hairspray. What? It does the job!) just to keep the details from rubbing off on the scanning bed. The downside to hairspray is that it makes everything look darker. So I had to fix up the tones in the computer to give it back its' original colours. (Eve, however, was dustless enough where I didn't have to spray it.) With Auto, I used my blue tones again... but I discovered I had some sepia tones as well in the same kit. So I used that to make his LED ("optic" is the term we use in WERP) look red. For the most part, I think he turned out. I screwed up the proportions on his left wheel rim (or our left and his right). It was originally correct but my little finger (my smudging tool) inadvertantly made it too big. HRARG!But long and the short of it, I think he turned out okay.
HI-OH AXIOM..... AWAY! *Flies off in to the sunset like in some cheesy western*
Auto belongs to Pixar.

Well... it's messy but a great deal of fun. My suggestion is to work in layers (laying out your base colours first) before you get in to shading. It's like an old school Photoshop... without the computer. Also... keep a damp cloth on hand to clean your fingers. That usually works for me.

This is really pretty. ^^ I love the shading on his faceplate. I could never get pastel-type media to work for me, but you did a great job. ^^

Aw! Thanks. ^^ Actually, I find it's all in what paper is used. I either use grey construction paper or goya. With both Eve and Auto, it was goya. I also find that you can't use it really on bright white paper at all. It just doesn't seem to work.
