I wish it was spring over here. So I’ve done this springy with petals but with more autumny colours (since it’s autumn at the moment)Yeah so it’s a weird mix. And I got lazy and only did the top bit of the picture.

I've looked around and i can't find a good beginner's tutorial for Photoshop 7. I find them for markers and stuff, but i hate markers.

I always used Paint Shop Pro X, but it was just so hard..
I'm slowly learning how to use photoshop.. But.. In my opinion.. My linearts are keeping my coloring from looking really good..
I mostly wanna learn to draw poses.. More than anything. Well.. Hands too.
I hate hands.
Anyway.. I'll just keep practicing and practicing.
I've only been drawing Anime for.. Uuuh.. 3 or 4 years?

So what trouble are you having with your lineart? Do you draw them in first and scan them or do them on your computer?
Ahh, Sonic, I remember drawing him, too! He's great to start on. I first started drawing anime after Dragonball Z came on... I was an absolute addict!

It's just my style. It stinks.
The lines aren't very pretty.
But yeah, i'll sketch them out, ink them in, then i'll fix them up in Photoshop, then i'll color them.

That's the thing.. I don't know what to do.
I'd love for my style to be pretty like those mangas in Shojo Beat..
Take for instance.. Absolute Boyfriend. (I don't really like Vampire Knight's style...)
Or.. Uhm.. Trinity Blood.. Uh.. And... Mar.. And.. Uuuuh.. Blood Plus..
I love the big anime eyes..

Well you could always practice drawing with a reference, or even trace until you can draw that style well.
Yeah that's the thing I love most about the anime style - the eyes. (Along with most people, I'm sure)

It's still really hard..
I just can't ever get my own characters so look right..
And.. Well.. I just hate my style, but everyone else tells me it looks good..

And if characters look wrong... Well I have a lot of trouble getting mine to look right (and I never think they do in the end) so when I've drawn something I look at it to see what's wrong with it, then change it.

I just look at other people's stuff and see how wonderful it is, and i din't think that they've probally been drawing for years and years, and i've only been drawing for such a short time..
I guess i need to take that into mind..
I look at people like *pu-sama and look at mine and well. Who knows how long Pu-sama's been at it!!

I'm the same - I look at someone elses work and feel bad about my own, but I try not to because I don't think that's gonna help me get better! But again that's the beauty of dA - even us non-professional artists get support and appreciation!
