Well, *SPOILERS*
you have two choices in order to keep Alistair FOREVER, ( roughly explained )
you either HARDEN him after his personal mission with his sister, telling him to man up instead of comforting him, so later when made king he agrees to keep you as his mistress.
Or, you make Loghain's daughter queen instead of him. this way you two will take the lead of the wardens in Ferelden.
No need to say you have to agree to Morrigan's dark ritual for him to survive, right ?

It's funnier if you have Alister and Shale together, at one point Shale tries to give Alister The Talk. And fails.

Have Alistair and Wynne in your party and walk til they start talking: the bridge outside the blacksmith in Redcliffe or the bridge going to the Proving Grounds work well. You have to have a at least 70+ relationship for this to work, might work with less-it'll be worth the time if you see it!

My ending ? As a dalatian elf i managed to keep my relationship with alistair supporting anora instead and accepting the ritual. We were both alive and happy, and we rebuild the grey wardens xD what was yours ?

As a dalatian elf i couldn't marry Alistair if he was made king, so i refused to let this happen o_o , selfish. I also accepted the witch's request and pushed Alistair into accepting some dark sexual ritual in order to impregnate the witch and somehow save both of our lifes by giving her a child to reincarnate the old god's soul we must kill - then we lived happily ever after rebuilding the " grey wardens " , this group of heroes we joined in in the beginning of the game. that was the closest of a happy ending i could get with spiky ears xD
and there i am thinking that if you were ever to buy this game i spoiled it all - but still it is worth playing *_* like , SUPER WORTH PLAYING.

I know that if you ever want to marry Alistair with Anora, you shall not let him kill Loghain, that spoils it all. However, if Alistair's your love interest and that you're either a mage, an elf, or a dwarf - just chose to support Anora when you're asked to chose a side, Alistair will even tell you he's quite relieved about it. If you do want Alistair on the throne WHEN staying your lover if you ain't a human noble, you have to harden him after he saw his sister. " Do things by yourself " or something along those lines, and when he tries to break up once he's king : " it's not forced to end that way " or something, and you become his mistress xD

iAi ily. I was so crushed when I had to choose for him to become king to make peace. I knew it was the right thing to do, but I didn't want to do it. I did tell him that it's sorta like pretend and that we don't have to end things-- I even told the queen that I'm sticking around- I'm not sure if that helped or not.
I was sure if I went back and talked to him, he'd break up with me because he would have to make noble children and whatnot. D: I still haven't gone back out of that fear lol
Have you finished the game? I know a lot of people said that one person had to die in order to win the game- do you know if this is true? iAi
Btw, I'm so sorry to bother you, this game has me on the edge of my seat and I want to be able to play it just right. I'm glad to run into someone here on dA that has a good feel around about it.

no worries, i'd be glad to help you out, yes, i've beaten the game twice, and a third time will SURELY come. Am i understanding you haven't beaten it yet ? If you really want spoilers... here : None of you have to freggin' die. The thing is... Before the great fight, Morrigan will ask you a favor. She'll ask for you to persuade Alistair doing what she's asking you for. Go for it. It will keep you both alive, at least xD now, i won't go into the details to let you be afraid and freak out in shock in front of what she'll be asking you, MOUHAHA ha. ha. xD
