Description
Phew! What a bloody month. New computer, new software and nothing but problems, but I've finally got something to show for it...I've always wanted to do something with Sanctum Arts Grimm armour, but they're so polygon and texture heavy my old PC really struggled. My new one rendered the whole foreground part of this scene, with Ambient Occlusion, in about 20 minutes at 4K resolution. To say I'm impressed is an understatement of biblical proportions. The background I rendered seperately and treated like a Matte painting, using photographic elements to enhance the wreckage, then I composited it all in Photoshop and did my usual mucking about.
Thanks for taking a look...
Ian

AMD Phenom II X6, 1GB ATI Firepro V5800, 8GIG of DDR3 Ram running on Windows 7 64bit...to be honest most of it means little to me, I just know it's damn quick. But I did have to have the original Motherboard and SSD Drive replaced, which held everything up for weeks, then I've been having problems with the renders in Cinema4D R12 over the weekend which caused me a lot of grief, but that's all sorted now thank god!

Bloody hell, that is a monster, although that coolermaster case appears to be the same as mine, but everything else looks lightyears beyond. I've been thinking about a multiple monitor setup but funds are in short supply at the moment, maybe another time...

haha she is a beast yea, multi monitors is insane, allows for much more productivity and space to draw / design ..
I am actually currently selling two 30" monitors and lots of other computer gear as well .. but yea shipping is for Australia only
Look at it this way ... my rig beats yours, but your skills PWN me hehe .. ( in painting anyways )

Man, this one is just "wow". I really love the overall atmosphere and set-up. The sense of detail is also noteworthy. All in all one good piece of work here.
