Description OUTDATED!!! See this deviation for the current versions:

This is a continuation of a new project, drawing the uniforms of Soviet General Officers from 1969-1991. This set belongs to an MVD (except VV - Internal Troops and Militsya - Police) Major General.

Piping was simplified for all MVD uniforms from 1969 onwards, with the blue piping that previously adorned the cap's crown, jacket, and trousers being replaced entirely by the "Nettle" color which previously adorned only the cap's band.

The basic pattern of wave green Parade Uniform, shown at left and second from left, was introduced long before the M69 regulations came into effect and can be seen in regulations as far back as 1955. Major changes to those uniforms for the 1969 regulations increasing increasing the size of the visor cap to meet M69 standards and changing the piping to match the new MVD standards.

The light grey Walking Out uniform was also modified in 1969, with the uniform's purpose being changed from an alternate Service uniform to a Walking Out uniform intended for wear at formal (but not parade) military and civilian functions. New cap band embroidery was also introduced, replacing the simple M55 General Officer's cockade which previously adorned the cap.

Changes were also seen with the Service uniforms, with a new form of Service dress being introduced incorporating breeches and a crossbelt. The Service uniform with trousers was modified to have matching green-brown trousers, replacing the former blue trousers.

Awesome! Do you plan on some Soviet Navy drawings as well?

Not at the moment, no. I might attempt some after I finish the Ground Forces, VVS, MVD, etc General Officers uniforms, but I'm not sure yet. Glad you like it, though!

Understood...I imagine there are quite a lot of different uniforms for the Soviet Union, so you have your pick as to what to draw.
