I am a brush hoarder, I'm pretty much always downloading brushes, but here's a couple of my favorites - www.deviantart.com/art/Photosh… and feohria.deviantart.com/art/Win… (this one I use for lineart often)
as for coloration, I don't really do it any special way... I usually just muck around until I feel good about things, hahah. On this one I did a lot of multiply/screen/overlay layers and things like that to try and create depth for the forest. 'w'
