- Brown-haired, teenaged JRPG protagonists from the Gamecube and Dreamcast eras of gaming, who primarily dual wield swords and are also the well respected and fair leaders of their respective groups (Lloyd's party and The Blue Rogues, respectively).
- Both of their stories started off with them stopping an attack alongside their friends (The Renegades attack on the Chapel and Valuan Admiral Alfonso's flagship's attack on Fina's airship, respectively), with the aftermath of it eventually leading to their own hometowns being raided and subsequently destroyed (Iselia and Pirate Island), with this set of events ultimately leading them to embark on their respective journeys.
- During the course of their journeys, they would soon become closer with a girl who has an important and higher purpose (Colette Brunel, who as the Chosen, is responsible for completing the Journey of World Regeneration and Fina, whose mission is to recover all 6 Moon Crystals before Valua gains control of them and summons the living weapons called the Gigas), with said girls also being potential romance options for both protagonists.
- Their journeys would also involve them travelling around in search of something that was related to the goals of the previously mentioned girls (The 5 Seals, which Colette Brunel needed to release as part of her Journey of World Regeneration and The 6 Moon Crystals, which Fina needed to collect in order to fulfill her mission, respectively).
- Their fathers would also play a role within their respective journeys (Kratos Aurion and Dyne), with them having very action focused occupations as well (Kratos Aurion being a former knight, before becoming a mercenary and Dyne being the founder and Captain of The Blue Rogues).
- Their journeys would also have them come to blows with mutiple different enemy factions within their worlds (The Renegades & The Desians, and The Black Pirates & The Valuan Empire, respectively).
- The final acts of their journeys also involve a character named "Zelos" who also has an attack called "Judgement".
- They've even been put on wanted posters at one point during their journeys.
- They would also both end up toppling down a corrupt goverment official/faction by the end of their stories (Dorr, the easily corrupted Governor-General of Palmacosta and the highly corrupt, Valuan Empire).
- By the end of their adventure and stories, they both would end up becoming well known heroes within their worlds. However, the general public's perception on them would end up being relatively split, but still, this wouldn't deter them as they marched on forward, continuing their ever long journey throughout their respective worlds.
