Description
Our first large drawing for our Drawing II class this semester. I don't remember how large exactly. 20 x 36 inches? I'll update with the specifics.Crappy photo taken compliments of my iphone. OH YEAH. I'll try and update with a better photo when I can.
So this was, like I said, for my drawing II class. The assignment was to create some sort of fantasy landscape that showed we had some kind of understanding for perspective. So I did... this... Tibetan... city... french ally way... with prayer flags... thing. I am really happy with it.
My teacher really pushed me to put in more details than I would normally, and at first I was a little frustrated, but it really helped and I am so glad that she did. Which goes to show that listening to your teachers and going outside your comfort zone is a good idea.
I have been staring at this thing so long that I can't help notice everything that I hate about it, but as always critiques are welcome and encouraged and I will keep them in mind for the future.
Which brings us to another question, would you guys LIKE to see stuff i do for class? Like my portraits and still lives and anatomy studies and such? lemme know in the comments.
Thanks. Enjoy. Or don't. Or do.
Materials: charcoal pencil (both black and white) on Stonehenge paper

Oh wow! This is very well done! The number of prayer flags is astonishing, really showing how dependent the people are upon the prayers and the immense faith that they must have (if you thought of that at all) and overall, just very beautiful and detailed. Very well done.

Um... that wasn't what I had in mind when I made it, but I'm glad you were able to make your own meaning out of it.
Thank you very much. ^^
