Description
"So come out, come out, come out. Won't you turn my soul into a raging fire?
Come out, come out, come out. 'Til we lose control into a raging fire."

I know, I know, it's been ages and we all thought I'd never finish this, but alas, it is here! Pardon the startling lack of snow...but hey, in my defense it is still autumn where I live! And as an early Christmas present, here is the handsome Ty for CreativeChaosStudios I hope you like him. It's been awhile since I've been able to actually sit down and do any art. With this out of the way I can continue to work on that last commission I have...it's coming...slowly, but surely.
In case I don't get to say it later, Happy Holidays everyone!! ♥

I'll start off with how I do love this piece and the whole concept of the horse being within the water and I especially love your use of highlighting and shading.
However I feel like you could improve your technique when it comes to water movement. Ripples tend too be more rounded and they are emitted from a source. For example when you drop a pebble into water they start off small and gradually ripple outwards getting larger as the ripples wear off they also tend to be a lot smoother I feel that the ripples seen in your manip are rushed and for me it spoils the atmosphere it brings but this can be easily adjusted by using a warmer colour, more suited to the image itself as opposed to white so they become less noticeable and harsh to the eye.
I'd also like to comment on the mane and tail. Whilst I love the softness of it realistically the hair would disperse in all directions in the water unless effected by movement. For this if you have long hair try putting it in water and watching the difference. It wouldn't rise above the surface as seen at the end of the tail. There's also the movement of the mane and tail you've illustrated in comparison to the leaves that seem to be falling with some speed the mane and tail are absolutely still so for a bigger effect I'd either go easy on the leaves or create some wind movement in the mane and tail.
All in all a fantastic piece with a fantastic range of colours creating a gorgeous impact. I hope you take this critique with care.

It definitely looks beautiful but the ripples could be more rounded and blend better. I also reccomend not have the tail ends just randomly floating above the water. Try to fade it into the water only hving some strands floating among the surface.
Visually it's very eye catching.
Originality is defiantly big. You used a different pose and a very odd angle that I find very eye catching
As for technique I think a few things could be worked on but otherwise very good.
Like I said just try the fading out and working on blnding
Adding some ripples would've made the impact of this a full 5 stars
I really hope you consider my critiques for future refernce.

Aww, thank you!
I have two, one of which is incredibly outdated XD.
The other is newer, but I change my style so much
that I've given up creating a new tut each time haha.
Hopefully you'll find the newer one somewhat helpful!
It shows the same basic steps (:

I'm so glad you like him!
He was a lot of fun, I don't
have many or any water manips
so I figured I'd give it a try.
