Cochrane Winter Rally, 2009. Alberta Canada. 04 Subie STI rolls completely over right in front of me, this is the last shot I got before I started to run frantically.Drive and Co-driver were unharmed.
If you look closely there is a backpack in the left of the picture...where another photographer was standing for the passes of all the previous cars on that stage, he moved by chance across the stage just as that happened to help a friend change a filter that was stuck...lucky he did!!!!

Edit: A DD! When I suggested this, it was just because I didn't see many automotive sport shots up there, I never thought it would actually get accepted!!!!

And to any aspiring rally photographers, watch out for rocks, and keep a knee brace handy!

a stuck filter, or a holy being?
that holy being was looking out for several people, the photograpper, you, and the drivers.
but one thing still bothers me, and i have to ask.

And you're completely right about there not being enough car sport type photos. Even though this shot is that frighting look it also looks like one of those shots of out of TV where the guy's driving the car on it's two right/left wheels going between a rock and a hard place.
I also love how the snow spray adds to the photo to I can't help but to sit here and think "Oh man NOT the car!!!"
I'm a big fan of auto sports, however the best we have around here is nascar and it's not really one of those you can go out to like this and shoot being that close to the action because of the all the safty worries.
But yet again, Great shot. ^-^ Glad you could get it.
