Cochrane Winter Rally, 2009. Alberta Canada. 04 Subie STI rolls completely over right in front of me, this is the last shot I got before I started to run frantically.Drive and Co-driver were unharmed.
If you look closely there is a backpack in the left of the picture...where another photographer was standing for the passes of all the previous cars on that stage, he moved by chance across the stage just as that happened to help a friend change a filter that was stuck...lucky he did!!!!

Edit: A DD! When I suggested this, it was just because I didn't see many automotive sport shots up there, I never thought it would actually get accepted!!!!

holy...geezus...I can't even begin to go into how awesome that is!!! I've always wanted to see rally-car racing...but I don't think that I'd want to be THAT close to the action!!!
BTW, It looks almost as if you were setting up for some kind of scenic nature shot, and this big blue car came and interrupted the shot!!! The nerve of those guys!! ROFLMAO

I am a HUGE rally fan.
My father retired from the rally industry and I miss watching the races. He used to be a driver and of course he drove subaru only.

I love Rally racing, and Rally cars. One of my dreams is to see a European event. This picture captures the dangerous raw energy of racing out of the relative safety of the track. Moments like this await around every turn, this is captured ideally is this moment of time.
