Description Ro convinces Zee to take a break and experience teenage culture.

For those of you who don't know, The Zeta Project was a show from 2001 based in the Batman Beyond universe. It's about a government assassin robot turned pacifist and his sassy teenage sidekick.

Seven years! We've been waiting SEVEN YEARS for The Zeta Project to come out on DVD, and the day is finally here! I'm expecting to get it in the mail any day now, at which point I'll force all my dorm-mates to watch it. Yes, that's right, I'm in college now and still obsessed.

Speaking of growing up: Compare

I'm still not entirely happy with this pick, I'm worried they look a little creepy. But, hey, I'm still learning this whole digital thing.

The Zeta Project is copyright The WB (though they don't deserve it).

What a great idea for a drawing! I love the black and white frame that makes it look like a photograph! I don't think they look creepy! You've captured Ro's mischeivous sweetness very well, and Zee looks both soulful and innocent. And both of them look a little surprised. I think Ro was explaining to Zee how the photobooth worked, and it took a picture when they weren't quite ready....

I'm Deb, by the way, and I came to your page here today because I saw that you signed up and posted on Knossos! I haven't enough time just yet to respond to your long and thoughtful scientific post over there, but wanted to at least say "Welcome to the forum!" So glad you found your way there.

The DVD will knock your socks off, the transfers are SO nice. And there is an AMAZING 16 minute featurette, all about the show. You might even want to watch that first with your dorm mates, it might help them get past any notions that TZP is just for kids. Plus, despite a press release stating that the ultimate unaired ending to the show is revealed in the featurette--it is NOT, so it is safe to watch without spoiling the show for anybody. (possibly the one that reveals the ending will be on the SECOND season set...) Ad an artist, you will probably enjoy all the conceptural art that is included in the featurette, different takes and designs of Ro and Zee.

Also included as an extra are the two Batman Beyond episodes, "Zeta" and "Countdown"--you probably already know this, but just in case. "Zeta" is a great place to start, as it is the original show that TZP is spun off from. They don't present it first on the DVD though, you have to go find it in the extras.

Hope you get your DVD soon. If you have time, come on over to Knossos and post your reactions, as you can tell I have been eager to talk about it with someone else who has seen it!

Thanks for making this and any future TZP drawings!

Wow, this is the longest comment I've ever gotten! Thank you for your thoughts and kind words. And for welcoming me to Knosses.

I am very much looking forward to the DVD, and I'm glad to hear they have concept art on it. I think I remember there being a couple character turnarounds flouting through the internet years back, but I haven't been able to find them again. So, I'm going to have to rely on the DVD for reference material. (I can't promise anything, as I have a bunch of other projects I'm currently working on, but Ive been drawing a few pages of a comic I'd eventually like to post.)

And here's hoping for season two!
