Done up in Adobe Photoshop for 's "Hot Mess" contest. In it, one is supposed to draw an animal representation of an aspect of one's psyche. So I drew my obsessive compulsive tendencies.

Since I was about seven, I've been compulsive. Mostly it revolves around counting and hand washing. At times, I'd be washing my hands so often that my skin would dry, crack, and bleed. But it's been useful, too. About two years ago I loaded most of my obsessions into schoolwork and becoming a more skilled artist. I encourage you to look at the stuff I was doing two years ago (check scraps) as compared to now; you'll notice a vast improvement. That's a direct result of my obsessing.

When working in tandem, this part of me can be a guiding light, the ink in my pen. But it can also bind and choke. Hence a FIRE CONSTRICTOR!

Now, did that sound angsty-artist enough? If not, read again while playing Green Day.
