Description
A event illustration painted for Total War: Warhammer's Beastmen campaign. Planes and characters were painted on separate layers and they are animated in game, which gives them added depth and atmosphere. It's a pleasure to see them come to life thanks to the work of Creative Assembly's animators.

Question: in which way are they painted on separate layer? I mean, I understand that each beastman and each banner has it's own layer, but is that it? Are their heads and bodies separated so they animate motions more easily? Does mouth for example has it's own layer so they can animate talking etc?

No, I didn't have to separate specific body parts, maybe sometimes a hand (like this hand holding the bag) or a banner, but nothing too crazy.
