Description When Axanar meets Discovery.

I loved the look of Prelude to Axanar and wished this for a new TV Show. Axanar has shown how to modernize the TOS design to make it still TOS but bring it on a level for a today show. Im unsure if Discovery will create this feeling too, or whether it is not simply a JJ clone. We will see. As long as I have seen no episode, I will not set my opinion.

I agree with you about Axanar. It was a side of the Star Trek universe i would have loved to see on a regular basis.
(Getting away from single ship+Crew stories to a grander point of view.)
Also, it looked really good despite the old-fashioned looking Uniforms and sets.
It made me think, why did they had to change everything in later series and movies anyway?

Maybe it's because i'm older now, but i really think it is less about how the uniforms and interiors look, but more what feel do they translate through the screen?
I think it would have been quite cool, if they didn't had the time jump to TNG back then, but stayed in the 23rd century completely and told stories of other ships and crews. I think the design is almost timeless it only depends on how it is filmed and in what context.

Both look good. Maybe an Ares will do a cameo appearance. Never know.

The USS Shenzhou which appeared in the pilot-episode is already a Ares clone.

Yes, of course. But we already know, that the Shenzhou will appear in the pilot-episode.
