Description The USS Enterprise-B

Over the course of the Enterprise-B's service, she was remembered as a key figure in exploring beyond the Gourami sector, mapping over 142 star systems and making first contact with 17 different civilizations. The Enterprise served as flagship of the Federation for that time. The Enterprise-B was also the first Federation starship Enterprise in 30 years that did not have Captain James T. Kirk in command of the vessel.

She was launched in the year 2293 under the command of Captain John Harriman. She was later commanded by William George, Demora Sulu and Thomas Johnson Jr.

Can't help but wish that had placed ST: Discovery in this era. As always, awesome work!

As much i love the idea of an Captain Sulu show or similar Lost Era show, Star Trek should go to more future themes. Like the 25th or 26th century. Something with an fresh start.

That's a really cool perspective, highlighting some of the differences between the Enterprise-B and the rest of the Excelsior line.

Magnificent. Β

Hey, the bottom of this star ship has an unusual structure, like that of a scoop or wings, on the bow. Β That doesn't appear to be normal for the Excelsior class star ship ... what's it's purpose?

Its the refit version of the Excelsior class seen in "Star Trek Generation" and in Deep Space Nine.
Its made for the movie Star Trek 7 were the Enterprise B was damaged by the Nexus Ribbon. Because they shooting at that time with real physical models instead of cgi stuff, they needed a solution to show damage on the ship without damaging the filming model. So they gave her some new belly parts which can be destroyed and leave the original model intact.

Gotcha ... saw this sort of comment after I posted, but I thought maybe there was more of an official reason, like it's a ram-scoop or extra torpedo storage (which might be insane.) Β

Not really. The only thing we saw on the refit version is, that she now has two more impulse engines as the standard Excelsior class.

Its a upgraded version of the standard Excelsior class. We also saw this version in Deep Space Nine.
Its made for the movie Star Trek 7 were the Enterprise B was damaged by the Nexus Ribbon. Because they shooting at that time with real models instead of cgi stuff, they needed a solution to show damage on the ship without damaging the filming model.
