In 2172, Captain Gora Ren of Tellar leads the Daedalus class USS Euderion into the former area of the Delphic Expanse. There, after four bloody years, the second Xindi civil war ended. With the mediation of the Federation, and not least through the personal commitment of Jonathan Archer, it was finally possible to negotiate a new, albeit fragile, peace treaty between the various Xindi species.

Not all factions of the Xindi agreed to the terms and so regular skirmishes were the order of the day. From its own painful experience, the young federation knew how important a stable Xindi alliance is for the region. In order to prevent the civil war from flaring up again and to achieve a final peace, the Federation, in consultation with the new Xindi Council, sent a task force of 10 ships and the Euderion to the region. The Euderion was selected as the lead ship of the task force. All actions were planned from here and coordinated with Xindi representatives.

In order to break down existing prejudices and to avoid unclear situations, the agreement also provided for the exchange of officers in addition to the mere presence of the Federation ships. Each Federation ship should have a contingent of Xindi officers. In return, the Federation sent exchange and liaison officers to key Xindi stations and ships. Despite some setbacks and sacrifices, the mission eventually went down in history as a great success. The young Federation had shown foresight and showed that it was not blind to the great galactic whole. Over time, the federation became a stabilizing factor in the formerly divided region of our galaxy and always came on the scene when conflicts should threaten the peace of the Alpha Quadrant. The Xindi mission eventually ended with the withdrawal of the remaining Federation ships and the opening of a new Federation embassy on New Xindus.
