Hello Helios,
Mostly I take my pictures early morning or around sunset because I like the light best then. This particular one I took shortly before a thunderstorm, with very dark skies above,
Thanks for your interest,

Yes, there are a few small lakes in the Netherlands near "Giethoorn". There I found these tree poles..
Thanks

Hi. I'm really curious about how to create this effect with water. I was recently taking photos of a lagoon and it just didn't work. The exif data for this photo says 197 seconds but sometimes that data is off... was it really that long? And if it was, how did you manage to get it so that the photo isn't over exposed (was it enough with just the small aperture and low iso)? Were you in really low light conditions?
This is a really nice photo, I'd add constructive critique if only I could!

Thanks Wesley,
The exposure-time was indeed 197 secs:
I used a neutral density filter of 9 stops, low ISO setting and small aperture, combined with tripod and remote shutter..
Of course the light and weather-conditions were also great..
Cheers,
Leon
