9 x 12" GraphiteWatercolor Paper (don't ask)
So I don't hate it.
That has to count for something.
I thought this would be quicker and easier than it was, but it wasn't deadly. It got a bit boring in certain parts, but overall I think I'd like to draw glass again... I'm annoyed that the white didn't come out white with the scan, but what can I do.
And man, graphite pencils are demon spawn sometimes, but had to use them here. I don't know if I could have done this in conte unless I would have gone way bigger in size.

And I don't know if this category is right either.

Was it hard though? Did it take you as long as drawing a normal portrait? I think it'd be a challenge to draw. I've never had a chance to be an art student so there're a lot of things that I've never tried to draw but would love to. Your work's such an inspiration.

No, not really, but there are more details that you have to pay attention to because on a face a nose will always be a nose, and you know where it goes, but the reflections on the glass look dumb if you don't put them in the right spot. And this is only a 9x12 so that's a factor too... And yeah, I wish I would have had the chance to take art classes too, it would have been a fabulous experience. Alas, no, only what ever was in high school is what I got
It's worth a try for the glass though, it just takes a bit more concentration that usual because it's something new

It was a joke about the name, but I was so admired by this work, that I think it'a a pity to call it a study. Maybe the right name could be "Wonderful Glass of Water" or "Would you like a glass of water?".

darned fine glass drawing! what kind of watercolor paper did you use? must have been tough to work on for something like this.

It's a Canson watercolor pad, 9x12" with the hot air balloon on the front
I don't know if that tells you anything... there are some more specific details on the front about acid freeness and poundage, let me know if you want to know those details as well

It's not really ideal paper for graphite drawings because it starts to flake a little bit, but it's workable

drawing glass is not easy.........i did one a long time ago, did cut crystal.....but it was a real challenge........i appreciate the work u did on yours.......i understand it. lol.

This is really good. I like the interesting things in the bottom - it looks like reflections of things like starfish and other sea life are in there. It looks like you could reach out and grab the glass!
