Description
Japan HouseI have recently been working on some promo images to help set up my rendering business and website. For this one, i basically imitated some photoscans i had lying around of this house in Japan. I'm not exactly sure of the architect who designed this residence, or exactly where it is, and if anyone out there knows, id be interested to know. The main point of this exercise was to expand my skills with 3d and rendering by closely matching light settings from an existing image. The model was constructed using microstation and 3ds max 8, then rendered using max and vray. Each image took roughly 3hrs to render at 2000px wide.
I hope you enjoy, and thanks very much for viewing.

did you use Microstation here? I'm trying to study using that, as an AutoCAD user, do you think it'll be hard for me? ^^
anyways, this is amazing, even if you just copied it, the lighting, rendering, everything is nice! good job!

Beautiful work. At once pure while still retaining that air of believability which is so difficult to achieve. Thank you for this.

Wow you should put this under photography and see if anyone can spot that it's a render. Beautifully done.
One minor quirk I have is the top walkway in the second picture. It looks sort of...rotated?

Yup, nice images.
Did you get to know the architect? I don't no anything, exept the concrete pattern on the int wall looks like Tadao Ando's signature. If ya didn't get your answer yet , maybe you could look after him? (since his work should certainly please you.
