Description
Stream fed by Crystal Cascades at Mt Washington, New Hampshire.Taken a little further down the mountain than my last post. I like the little snow islands in the stream. I had a difficult time pulling more detail out of the snow bank on the let. Please let me know what you think.

Snow is white, and so when it comes out white, the eye isn't bothered by it. One of Ansel Adams images is very disturbing to the eye, because some shadowed snow in the foreground is rendered quite grey in the final print. He did it to maximise detail in the background snow, but it's just quite wrong. The "blankness" of the snow is easily offset by the shadow detail in the vertical "walls", and also makes ann effective "frame" to the image. I think it's quite satisfactory .
I can only imagine how cold that water must have been. Great detail in this image, and the branch at the top completes the composition.

You have got nicely out even the color of the branch. It becomes too dark easily.
