Description I really like where I'm starting to go with proportions and rendering. I'm trying to let a little more cartoony-ness and expression in, which are generally felt to be my strengths. Now to figure out how to properly ink this style. Balance is one of the toughest things to control style-wise!

Hey. I've made my own invincigirl. Would you like to see her?

Looks cool! Using a "real" (wood) pencil? I used to be a "pencil only" person. Now, I can't pencil something without thinking it in ink. But I'm still trying to hone the ink style. So many possibilities that could take it in an entirely different direction.

Thanks Matt! Yeah, using a real wood pencil! Going between a standard HB and an H, then sometimes a giant 4B lead holder. Col-Erase require me to press so hard that I can't erase very well, and it ruins my flow. I'm trying to figure how I would just pencil something, which is rough. I'm used to not even finishing pencils and just hoping the inks work out, then having to save my butt when it doesn't! I'm trying to simplify and not hang a bunch of crap lines on my work when I ink, and consolidate some shapes. I feel like forcing myself to pencil a little more clearly makes me do that. It also takes out some of the hesitation col-erase caused.

I really like these last couple of sketches you've posted! I've also been working on more exaggerated proportions. It opens up so many possibilities. And I think it allows for more fun to be had while drawing. and it's easier to push deliberate shapes in your compositions when you can stretch proportions to your design needs.

Thanks man! Yeah, I feel like if I exaggerate things a bit, it will give me some leeway for what I need to do. It will keep me from needing to reference, which I think was the direction I was being taken. There are more than enough artists that photo-reference all the time. I feel like I just need to embrace the skewed angles and fun that is caused from that!
