Judging by the end of Sonic Rush and Sonic Rush Adventure, they were pretty flipping close.
This is assuming the continuity of those games ties with the events happening in the comic.

Thats sounds right, but Ive never played Sonic Rush Adventure so I wouldn't really know. Although he was angry before he saw Silver's Blaze.
But no more fighting lets just stick with Sonic's Blaze being the concept. even though i love fights.

Reading through your comment made several theories occur to me:
-It could be that Blaze is a reincarnate of either the Blaze that died 200 years or of the Blaze that absorbed Solaris back in 06(though the 06part is highly unlikely since Evan seems to be going more off the Archieverse.)

-Also, if she is a reincarnate could it be possible that the others, Amy, Tails, Knuckles, could come back as well?

The last one is mostly wishful thinking on my part, obviously.
