Hello there Thanks for commenting! First of all thank you for the compliment about the style of the art.. that i actually never even think about when drawing it xD. what i like about this mech is about how primal and Animalistic it is. Other Gundams usually have this "Clear" or "Dignified" sense to it's design because it was originally deisgned as a symbol of hope. This Gundam in the other hand is like a Beast, a Demon given form that wreck havoc in the battlefield. That is the thing that i think about when making it. I'm so glad that the message / feeling of the mech was conveyed without problem and it turned out very well.
And yes the thing about texturing or texture in general, i usually never done this kind of texturing before (or ANY texturing in general) so i honestly didn't know how to do it properly. I Intentionally only want to give it a more dirty or worn out look without properly lighting it or even texturing it. I guess i definitely need to learn about texturing. Also this is my 2nd Colored art regarding a mech, not necessarily a 2 months improvement, more like....3 weeks? but then i go back to drawing human characters like i used to do so i was so inexperienced with drawing this type of thing. But i'm eager to do so because it's such a fun piece to draw
Ah and yes the lighting, I never really good at those . the thing is maybe because of how i usually do my work by dividing almost all of the different part with different layer (usually based on the different color) and individually shade them, maybe i should've use some kind of global lighting and learn more about depth or composition. I also realizes that my attention to detail is so weak, i also tend to take shortcuts every time i find it too troublesome or when i'm exhausted. I definitely need to reevaluate my priorities and try being consistent with the quality.Ā
Thanks for the comment and critique tho it made me realizes of the flaw that i could definitely improve upon!

Ho-Hoo, I see an awesome f*ckin mech!
it would be a shame to miss an opportunity to not crituque him u\w/u
I'm from and would love to crit your pic
So to start with must point out the composition. everything is set to make the viewer to look on a head of the robot and not every artist can do it properly. but because of making an angle with his torso and arm (which also getting closer by a weapon to the viewer) such effect was made perfectly
Other thing to point out is an anatomy since even that it's a mech, it has humanoid bodytype and even basic anatomy will save the day. yet here is clear that artist knows not only how to draw robotic joints, but also have a feeling of proportions (knows exact length of a limb at any angle or percpective)
and also couldn't go past how the 'armor' of a robot was carried out. noting much to say, except that it looks ergonomic and viewer doesn't get confused by any the parts of it
As for the minuses I only noted these ones, even that they're more looking like nitpicks
First one is a join of hand with the rest of the arm. it looks good, but lack functionality if pilot would want to bend it more than usual. as also looking on a armor parts on fingers, drawing them on a back of the hand would be more logical since then robot could do more damage by fists. but guess it's just a style
Next nitpick are his lower body parts. no, I know that they weren't a main focus, yet just wanted to note that on a closer look it's hard to get position of legs. as trust me it can give more action to the pose ;3
and last what spotted is his torso, or a joint between pelvis and a chest. looking on how much weight is on it, I'd draw it thicker just to be sure that robot won't break there in a battle. but again guess that's a stylistic choice and not a crit flaw (if you're not a nitpicky nerd as I, hehe)
I hope my critique would help you anyhow as plz don't be angry on me if I offended you by accident
I'm a bit of a direct person, yet it can't cover the fact that this pic looks LEGENDARY, uwu

Hello there! I am SO sorry for the super late reply. It's a fanart of an already existing Mech (that i happens to have as the model kit) so i use that for my reference. It's still a long way to go and i do agree of your points about the leg or lower body side to looked somewhat vague or confusing as to what parts positioned where etc. I really need to do more practice
Also the Lower Body parts were exactly made like that because this Gundam Barbatos is known to have an a very high mobility and Agile to boot. It's lower body is indeed usually have an armor plate on it (like any other usual Gundams) but in this case they're purposefully removing it to incerase it's Mobility even further. There's also the fact that the system that operates the mech (The Alaya Vijyana System) Connects the movement system of the mech directly to the Pilot's nerve system so you can safely says that this mech is the extension of the pilot's body. Removing the Gut Area will definitely lower it's defense but with how the pilot use it (The pilot, Mikazuki is a very ruthless and No-Nonsense pilot that is borderline psycopath. He usually shows no mervy even though he's the protagonist and always charge ahead like a madman). Long Story short this mech is a very Offense Oriented type and that lower parts looked weaker because the armor of that part was purposely removed, leaving only the frame. But i like it because it gives this mech this slick and sexy feel Ā
