I've been wanting to do some more Willow demigoddess concept art, so here it is~! I've admittedy not made her quite as intricately as I normally do, but I was going for more of a simplistic style this time. I kept her eye cloak~! Hee, I love her eye cloak.
As for the title's meaning, being a demigoddess entails a lot of hard work. Making sure the balance of the Universe is maintained, acting as mediator between her two Creators, and other fun responsibility stuffs like that. Most times, Willow just divides up her consciousness in order so that she can simultaneously handle the tedious and fairly strenuous task of maintaining order amidst her home universe AND can still hang out and do fun things with her friends and family.
Some in her universe and other universes will liken her to a spider, always weaving her web of influence to ensure that the world is balanced and that everything is under control. Her control. Despite this, she goes through great lengths to ensure that such power does not corrupt her as it once did her Creators, never forgetting the undeserving kindness shown unto during her time as a weak and blinded devourer. She does not think lesser of those beneath her in status and power.

This is cosmic and awesome and I love everything about it. Even though she's so powerful and influential, there's still a weakness about how she operates, not in a bad way, but in a way that makes her more relatable and human-like, rather than some unreachable impersonal force. She doesn't really NEED to keep everything in the world of her creators under her control, she could allow some modicum of free will among her subjects rather than the illusion of it, allowing them the freedom to do things in life that she doesn't like or approve of, out of respect for their own choices. But she doesn't because she fears lack of control.
Willow's always had her issues with needing situations around her under control, which makes sense given what she went through in the past. The world under her care needs the freedom to choose and make mistakes and learn from them. Willow might not be controlling in a horrific, murderous-towards-innocents way, but it's still a very Big Brother-esque situation going on beneath her, even if her intentions are good and her plans for them ARE the best plans. There must be mortals under her care who are aware of that, of what happens to 'dissenters', who might be starting to feel a little bit of resentment over not being able to go out in ways Willow doesn't approve of.
All those are things Afiel has questioned, in his mind, when Willow tells him of the things she's doing in her homeverse. He doesn't think NEGATIVELY of it, but it's still a foreign concept he's got difficulties grasping, just because he and his kind are so used to their Father and the attitude of 'do literally whatever you want, mortal, and He'll forgive you when you realize you made a mistake, no matter how long it takes you to realize it', and how much they find free will sacred. I think that'd be an interesting aspect to explore, especially in the context of the watcherverse. Micro-managing and trying to keep things under tight control will run you ragged, Willow!

Perhaps this could be a potential reason for why some potentially want her destroyed by the sword. Or in the very least are VERY uncomfortable that she's in possession the one item capable of destroying her.

Sad as it is, the "Big Brother" aspect of her is something she's unwittingly obtained from her mother's example. A part of herself that I'm sure she'd be quick to try and dash if she was aware of just how similar in manner it was to her mothers' attitudes. Again, the saying of apples and trees most definitely holds its roots in her, regardless of how much she tries to be better than her creators.
Hopefully as time goes on, she can come to mature and understand this notion. For someone who so seems to despise fate...she sure does have a way of creating it for those under her care.

It'd be something a LOT of her angel boos would be questioning her about once word got around about how she rules over her world. With them holding free will just as dear as their Father does, it'd really gnaw at them. Even someone normally as dense and oblivious as Camael would get a little concerned and grill her a bit!
I think we talked about it once, a while back ago. Not in an actual RP, just in ideas being thrown around. You mentioned how Willow takes out her followers that go off in ways she doesn't agree with, taking their souls into herself for purification. They come out purified, yeah, but it's still TECHNICALLY killing off people she doesn't agree with. Very... mum-like! I remember discussing how her followers would see Afiel if he were going around in her universe, as a loyal otherworldly servant rather than an equal half of a loving relationship xD And how he'd get concerned with the way she "godded" the more he watched her operate.

Hehehe. Despite all her years of living, she still has quite a bit to learn. Maybe to be extra shocking, I could have the reveal of Willow once being nothing more than a weapon used to end another universe. To further drive home the point of how much she should stray away from the examples her mothers have set. Sure, she'll be very depressed for a bit. But she'll recover. As she always does. Hopefully.

Unless Devourers have a set naming scheme, then I might need some help.

All clothing they wear must be monochromatic.
They cannot eat veggies or fruits
They eat souls.They can drink blood and eat flesh to sate their appetite.
They can wield darkness like a sort of element. (Willow is the only special snowflake who can wield both elements)
Light attacks will harm them, and by light, I mean light attacks.
Their shells crack under pressure/abuse. They do not "bleed" like the normal peoples do
They all take the form of little female girls because they are what have been determined by human bias as the weakest type of human in existence. It just makes hunting easier
Also, they can shapeshift into anything
A devourer's purpose is to serve as a purgatorial holding place for the souls they consume
Their personalities can be whatever you want them to be.
Now that they're made with souls, empathy is no longer an issue for them
ALSO! You will get to have Willy for a big sis.
And there doesn't really exist any naming scheme, so you can do whatever.

Would the true form of a Devourer be weightless? If not, how much do you estimate the normal Devourer would weigh?
Are there Devourer subspecies?
Are all Devourers actually female or are they basically sexless demons who take the visage of young children?
What are the natural common powers of a Devourer besides Umbrakinesis and Soul Manipulation?
And what is the common backstory of the Devourer species, IF they have a shared backstory? I remember vaguely something involving Sacrosanct and so forth from reading one of your comments on someone else's Devourer OC comment.

Other powers include being able to take on the powers of the souls of those they consumed. As well as being able to sense emotions/fears/corruptions in a person's soul. You essentially can't lie to them.
Also, they are shapeshifters capable of taking on any form. And they can separate pieces of themselves and have those individual pieces be autonomous.
As for their backstory. These new generation of devourers are created by Caliginosity. With souls and with consciences to begin with. Willow personally welcomed each one into the world with hugs. X3

They use the purgatory inside them to seal up and purify souls before returning them to their goddesses for reuse. Basically a form of reincarnation. They can use their amassed soul energy to heal up someone's wounds. But they can not bring them back from death.

Would Devourers be able to consume bodies of mortals freely without consequence or no? If so, then alright, it'll work for me since I'm having Heratik be a bit protective of a pile of everyday objects she owns inside a dead-end alleyway within a city.
