This was a new illustration for the game Torg Eternity featuring a monster that originally appeared in the first TORG RPG back in the 1990's.  The original creature was a seductive Victorian woman with the lower body of an earthworm.  For the new version of the game, the developers decided to change her lower half to that of a maggot, presumably because maggots are a LOT creepier than earthworms (Orrorsh is a gothic horror realm in the multi-genre setting that is Torg).  I originally sketched her as an adult, as instructed, but in doing so, I realized that a maggot is technically a juvenile insect and, suddenly, having her with the upper body of a human adult seemed really weird.  As such I sketched her as a little girl and presented both sketches to Ulisses Spiele.  They agreed with my assessment and chose the child version.  Despite the fact that it removes the "seduction" aspect from the monster, I think it makes her WAAAAY creepier on several levels, not the least of which being that it implies the existence of an adult version that's a blowfly from the waist down, which is just wonderfully horrific.

Her outfit is accurate to late Victorian children's fashion.  What did we do before the Internet?

2021 UPDATE: Despite USNA altering the text of the monster to match my art, this piece was dropped from the final version of the book.  I don't know why.  The art appears in part on the monster's token, but otherwise remains unpublished.
