July 2021. Practice with 3 point lighting and a night scene. Using Lily 8.1 skin worked better for me. There are so many lighting "options" available, and when one doesn't have a photography or visual media background (I make books and I sculpt, mostly miniatures), it's overwhelming. I have come to the conclusion that lighting is at the top of the pyramid in order of importance. Following that is composition, and beyond that, thoughtful post work (unless you're a purist and can figure all that out within the Daz environment; I've seen it done. I'm not sure I'm that person. Yet.) People are fantastically helpful in pointing out there are a lot of free tutorials out there; they aren't wrong. A lot of them tell how. Not many of them explain why. I have my favorites now. I'll get around to braggin' on them eventually.
