---- Hi! Sorry if Gaara is a little bit out of character, and if he is, tell me how. I don't know him much because the scenes I saw him in, he was mainly either fighting or dead. -_-

"She said to tell us that... she loves you." Sakura said to Gaara, after finally tearing Matsuri away from him. The news hit him like a bucket of icy cold water. (Y/n)... What?

"She... Loved me?" Gaara said, stunned.

"Yes."

"And she's... Dead now?"

"Have you been listening? Yes." Sakura rolled her eyes.

"She asked to do it for you as a final request." Naruto chipped in. "But you're dating Matsuri, right? So, it's okay for you." Naruto tried to put on a smile, but it looked more like a grimace.

"Right." Gaara said, his voice barely audible. The fact that (y/n) was dead was taking a long time to sink in. No. Think about Matsuri. You love Matsuri. You love her. You love (y/n)- Gah! Matsuri. You love Matsuri. Matsuri.

"Hey, do you love her too?" Naruto asked obnoxiously. Gaara's eyes widened slightly.

"You baka!" Sakura yelled, slapping Naruto. "You don't ask such personal questions!" Even though this scene would normally be slightly amusing, Gaara did not feel even a tinge of amusement.

"Gaara! Come sit here!" Matsuri squealed, patting the spot next to her.

"It's okay." Gaara said. Why was it that all of a sudden her voice sounded so... Annoying? He walked out of the door, leaving Naruto to Sakura's mercy. Suddenly he felt Matsuri pull on his arm.

"Come on! I'm bored!" Matsuri whined. Annoyance flashed over his face.

"No. I'm fine." He said, more coldly, examining her eyes. They looked so stupid and dumb, so big and drab, unlike (y/n)'s vivid (e/c) ones. But he would no longer be able to see that, because, well, she's dead. She's dead. Gaara told himself. This shouldn't be so hard. But he couldn't let go. Every time (y/n) would walk down the street, she'd pass a soft smile to him. Whenever Gaara couldn't sleep, she sometimes came up and made small talk. And every time her eyes gazed in to the stars, he could see them sparkle. And that night she accidentally fell asleep and her fingers... Curled around his. But when Matsuri and him started dating, the smiles grew fainter, the visits lesser and they all eventually stopped. By why didn't he notice it?

"Gaara?" Matsuri's squeaky voice brought him back to the present.

"I need to do something." Gaara said, pushing her off. "Where is (y/n) buried?"

Matsuri crossed her arms. "Oh, don't tell me you love her. Please don't. That's just wrong, because she's dead, and... Well, she's dead and a lighting freak!" Instant anger. A freak. Something he always was. Maybe he had deserved it, killing so many people and causing so much misery, but (y/n) didn't. She always carried herself with a smile, even if a lot of people judged her on how she was so reliant on lightning's energy. If Matsuri hated her for being a freak, then did she only go out with him because he was Kazekage or because he was apparently good-looking? Were there even moments where he felt her really love him?

"She's not a freak. And you still haven't answered my question." Gaara said, directing his question to Naruto and Sakura. After they told him, Gaara walked out of the door.

"And Matsuri, I'm breaking up with you." Then he slammed the door to Matsuri's surprised face.
