If you were one of my followers who voted for me to make a comic with "feels", just take off the last panel and you'll get a comic very similar to that version.
I eventually decided to go with funny for this one.
This comic went through several re-writes, it was originally going to be comedy, but it didn't feel right on the first writing, then as I went it didn't feel right as a sad one either, but in the end I think it turned out well for all involved, except for Rarity, poor girl, now spike will really want to have a family.
Spike isn't asking so that he can have a family now (or for "relational" reasons), he's just curious if he and Rarity would be able to possibly have children later.
Well, technically Draconequus is pretty much latin for Dragon-Horse.
This isn't my head canon idea of Discord's, or any other draconequus origin, this was just an idea that I thought would make a good comic.
But if someone wanted to make a picture of a draconequus that was one part Spike and one part another pony (Rarity is the one I have in mind) I'd be more than happy to see it
!Just to be clear, this comic isn't meant to imply any form of SpikeLestia or CeleSpike (or whatever SpikeXCelestia would be called), or that discord is related to any of the Princesses.
But if those ideas inspire you to make a product(fanfic, video, multi-million dollar clothing line etc.) that you receive any money for, I demand at least 10% of it.

Being a little bit of an ocd here, I noticed that in panel 1-3 the Nightmare Moon has been defeated stained glass was on the right Discord defeated by Celestia and Luna stained glass but from panel 5 till the end, it was on the left of Discord's.

It was so epic that they made two stained glass windows to mark the event!
Actually I did it to save time, and effort(those windows take a surprising amount of time for me to do), so that I could get this comic out before the Discord episode aired because at the time I didn't know if it would have mentioned where Discord came from.

I like how you kept the last panel to keep it funny, but have an option for the people who wanted the "feels".
Personally I prefer the funny light-hearted tone....there's too much IRL to get the "feels" off of already. I like looking at pony comics to smile and laugh.

I like how Celestia takes the question seriously. To me it seems that if Spike ever asked anyone ells that question, they would be a bit thrown off. I guess she understands. Great comic!

Spike is at an age to ask questions so this one was inevitable. And like you said in case his relationship with Rarity would go far. We don't know. He just wanted to know. But it doesn't seem to stop him.
Discord's origin? Probably. Possible. But what about the others animals body parts? Some would say he was created with magic.

And that's why he's my fave character on the series: Yes, he's a baby dragon and also has his drama, but he's the one that bring the harmless fun to the town (sorry, Pinkie, but "mindscrew" is not healthy).

Spike asked if anything bad happened when a pony and a dragon mated last time. Celestia looks at Discord, and Spike realizes that he was the child of a pony and dragon (and was a VERY bad thing that happened)

Aw, poor Spike! I think what I like best is in that last panel, Celestia smiling.
I like that there's a hint that a draconequus doesn't necessarily have to be evil, just that the last one was.
